Letters to the Editor

God bless you, and thank you for your great work. I had the privilege of hearing James Walker speak at my previous church.

I was excited when I received the latest issue of The Watchman Expositor [Vol. 16, No. 2, 1999] because of the profile of Shepherd's Chapel. I used to listen to Arnold Murray every morning before work. I believed the Serpent Seed Doctrine as well as the other heresy he taught. However, God brought me out of this false teaching through the help of a very good friend. Looking back, I can't believe I listened to that garbage.
I also enjoyed your story on The Clear Word Bible. I can't believe the blatant disregard for God's Word shown by the SDA.

Hey James this is Gary here thanking you for the eye opening conversation we had a few years back. Since that faithful day God has been a constant in my life and I now have a ministry of my own.

Every one in our home has been baptized, and very active in the church. I know that it has been a long time since we talked but we have never forgotten what you did for our family. When we tell about our past we tell them that the Lord Himself sent you to us.

Editor's Note: Gary was a Jehovah's Witness. Watchman Fellowship PresidentJames Walker shared with him our witnessing manual, Doctrines Unto Destruction, available from Watchman Fellowship for a donation of $13.

I would like you to know that I am in prison at the time and cannot send you in money, but I want you to know that I pray for you everyday.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you and your entire staff for your efforts. It is partially because of you that I broke free from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

I had had my doubts about the SDA church for some time. I stopped attending church and started researching the subject through non-SDA resources and found the many gross errors in their beliefs. Your web site [www.watchman.org] was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. The information was laid out in an orderly and legible fashion and the message was clear: I was a member of a false church!

Today, I'm happy to say I know Jesus better than I could have ever known him thru my prior experience and attend a Baptist church. Again, thank you so much for your efforts. They are greatly appreciated.

Editor's Note: The following letter is printed as received.

Your article of mormonism is way off base and simply put its not Christlike how can you call yourself a Christian brother. You claim that someone who holds Christ formost in their lives and above everything else a member of some occult group just because we believe that are spirits continue to live. wait a minute. did not the savior himself have such a visit on the mount of transfiguration. Did not the savior himself appear to his disciples as a spirit. Isn't this belief at the core of Christianity. How many profets have had the same experience. To say that the Lord could not send a spirit back to relay a message is to deny Christianity. To say that he wouldn't is to tell the Lord his business. You need to seriously reconcider your own relationship with the savior and beliefs of christianity. Isn't it all about love and understanding. I believe you are a good man, but I believe you need to think a little more befor you condemn your own beliefs.

Your website shows dedication, scholarship and a willingness to walk in the truth. Congratulations !

Despite their confusion [and worse] God remains loving and merciful to those who stray. It is good to remember that the Eternal is always sovereign, and He can save any Saul, turning them into a Paul.

Whatever is "out there", we can "enjoy peace through Christ" [Rom 5:1].
