This group was begun in the late 1960's by Norman Paulsen, who "...received a meditation technique... that allowed him to achieve his greatest desire, to find and meet Mother - Father-God,'" (Introduction to The Builders, p. 1-2).

The Builders derive their name from "the ancient ones referred to in Genesis as the Sons of God, who were on earth before the creation of man. The original Builders are Christ or cosmic conscious beings." (Ibid)
