Transchannelling

While this is not a cult per se, it represents numerous people from housewives to professionals who believe and teach they are able to be used by Ascended Masters to provide lost or new truths to Mankind.

Perhaps the best known of all transchannellers is J.Z. Knight who channels Ramtha, The Enlightened One. What new truths would Ramtha have everyone know? First with reference to Man's nature, Ramtha, via J.Z. Knight, says, "What be you? You are God! Man expressing as God often forgets that which is termed his Godhood... 'Tis not the way it is. You are a God that needs to remember," (Voyage to the New World, Ramtha with D.J. Mahr, p. 127). The wording is a bit awkward because Ramtha, a 3,000-year-old Ascended Master, is not from America and speaks with an accent.

The second new truth concerns Man's obsession with guilt, sin and following someone else's rules. "Torment yourself no more; do not be abusive to yourself any longer. Relinquish guilt. ... Do not live by rules, live by feelings. Be. Stop being another's ideal -- be your own," (Ibid, p. 146).

The final bit of truth is given in order to dispel the false impressions man is currently living under concerning God. Under a section entitled A God-Maker Extraordinaire, Ramtha's views are expressed clearly and succinctly. "Ramtha is a God-maker. He is calling forth immaculate, impeccable, humble entities who know the power that they be and who live in absolute evenness in perfect alignment with God, the Father, the Source. "Who is this God, the Father, the Source, that Ramtha continually speaks of? Ramtha is presenting for your consideration a totally new and unlimited definition of the essence of God. "Instead of finding a God that is judgmental and vengeful, a God to be feared, Ramtha has found a God who is to be loved, a God that is judgeless, who overflows with unconditional love for the all of creation," (Ibid, pp. 268-269).

These or very similar truths are being spread by transchannellers through the world. In addition to the channellers themselves, there are numerous well known celebrities which help spread these heretical doctrines. Perhaps the best known of all is Shirley MacLaine.
