HOW TO SHARE YOUR FAITH WITH
SOMEONE IN THE OCCULT
By Jason Barker
The following list was derived from an article by
Craig S. Hawkins in the Christian Research Journal
(Summer 1990).
- People in the occult frequently view Christians
as intolerant and mean-spirited. Rather than
directing attention to themselves, Christians
should instead direct their attention where it
belongs on Jesus Christ. Show sensitivity
and tact when presenting the gospel.
- Know what you are talking about. People in the
occult, just like Christians, hate to be
misrepresented. Be sure to perform solid research
so that you do not attribute beliefs or actions
to the person that do not actually apply to the
individual.
- Know what the Bible says about the occult (see
"The Bible
and the Occult"). You should also know
where the Bible teaches essential Christian
doctrine. Also, your faith should be made visible
in your action; you should clearly experience,
and be transformed by, the things you share with
others.
- Because people in the occult reject the Bible,
you should also be able to utilize other tools to
show the weaknesses in the occultic worldview.
Causing people to critically examine their
beliefs may be used by the Holy Spirit to make
them more accessible to the claims of Christ.
- The life, death, and resurrection of Christ must
be presented as fact, not myth.
