Phillip Arnn, Senior Researcher, Watchman Fellowship - Texas

Phillip Arnn

Senior Researcher - Texas

Phillip Arnn was born in Roanoke, Virginia. He was raised in a non-Christian home, but had a praying grandmother. She passed away before she could see Phillip come to the Lord at the age of twenty-three. His association with Watchman Fellowship began in 1984, while attending Watchman's first Cult Awareness Institute. Observing the need for such a ministry to the Church, and discerning the Lord's leadership in his life, he began his ministry with Watchman Fellowship in 1986.

Phillip first began as support staff directly involved in evangelism to the Jehovah's Witnesses and later joined the research and writing staff for The Watchman Expositor.

Phillip speaks regularly in churches and college campuses, addressing theological and historical issues concerning cults and the New Age Movement. Beyond his general research and writing duties, Phillip specializes in Sabbatarian groups including the Worldwide Church of God, along with its break-off groups. His investigation and study included an interview with Garner Ted Armstrong, son of Worldwide Church of God founder Herbert W. Armstrong. Garner Ted formed his own church, the Church of God International.

During the Branch Davidian standoff, Phillip was on seventeen different television broadcasts including NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliates. He provided insights into the history and theology of the Branch Davidians and their predecessors from an evangelical Christian perspective.

He has been quoted in the Los Angeles Times and Christianity Today. He has also been a guest on various radio programs across the nation, including Truths that Transform with Dr. D. James Kennedy.

Phillip has designed and now maintains a teaching tape ministry so that more people can benefit from the teaching and witnessing tips developed by Watchman Fellowship. Thousands of these teaching tapes go out each year.

His desire is to help prevent a new generation from being enslaved by deception. He has dedicated his talents to the ministry of Watchman Fellowship to help churches reach out to those people lost in the cults.
