Every cult without exception subtracts from the nature of Jesus in one way or another. Many New Age groups claim He was a very good man, but definitely not God. Others, such as the Jehovah's Witnesses, say He was a created being and thus not God. Some being even more subtle will say Jesus was the Son of God, but not God the Son - again denying His true nature.

The following is a brief analysis of what the Bible has to say about the true nature of Jesus.

1. Before His birth in Bethlehem, Jesus was God (John 1:1).

2. At His birth Jesus was proclaimed to be God (Matt. 1:23).

3. At His birth Jesus was the promised Messiah or Christ (Luke 2:11).

4. During His life He asserted His equality with God the Father (John 5:18, 8:58, 10:30-33).

5. After His Resurrection the Apostles declared He is God (John 20:28, Philippians. 2:6, Colossians. 2:9, Titus 2:13).

6. God the Father called Jesus <197> God (Hebrews 1:8).

7. God is the Creator of all and the Bible explains Jesus is the Creator (John 1:2-3, Colossians 1:16-17).

8. Jesus is called the Almighty (Revelation 1:8).

9. Jesus' name is above all other names (Philippians 2:9).

10. The Bible says to worship only God, yet it is recorded that Jesus is worshipped (Luke 4:8, Hebrews 1:6).
