Scientology

Former science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard founder of this powerful and vastly diverse organization, created a dynasty that has survived his death. Today this movement is directed by Heber C. Jentzsch.

Hubbard borrowed from many different Eastern religious sources and has added a few ideas of his own in order to help Scientology be palatable to the Western mind. His basic teachings included the idea that every person is actually a thetan or god, trying to discover ways in which it can re-emerge as its true identity. With the help of Hubbard and his short cut, Scientology, this process will be realized. In fact, in a Hubbard message entitled Christmas Message A.D. 26, he states, "We (Scientology) are the hope of Man -- the only hope. Mankind's salvation lies within our hands. With our tech and ability we can create here on earth a real heaven where men can be free."
