Browsing through the local Christian bookstore, google or Amazon.Com, one is struck by the number of Bible based diet plans being promoted.  Are "Bible" diets anything special? Are they are a unique provision of God or a reaction to the "secular" nutrition and health recommendations of 21^st century American culture? Are "Bible" diets salt and light? Healthy? Spiritually sound? Self indulgent? How can Christians think about this? This workshop will look at “The Hallelujah Diet” and some of the more popular Bible based diet and nutrition plans and provide some tools which may help answer the question "What Would Jesus Eat?"

Marcia Montenegro, Contemplating the Eastern Roots of Contemplative Prayer                

Contemplative Prayer, presented as a form of prayer/meditation, is being promoted in many churches today. Where did this practice come from and what is involved? We will look at the roots of the Contemplative Prayer Movement, started by three Roman Catholic Monks, and examine its practices and teachings, which often include special breathing techniques and word repetition. The crucial question, “Is this practice Biblical prayer?” will be the theme of this workshop.

Keith Gibson, Wandering Stars:  Contending for the Faith with the New Apostles and Prophets      

Modern apostles and prophets claim to be introducing a new paradigm into the Body of Christ and the issues they raise go far deeper than a mere debate over the cessation or continuation of spiritual gifts. This workshop presents that many of the statements and teachings of leaders within this movement strike at the very heart of essential Christian doctrine and the nature of Christianity. Includes brief discussion of the history of this new movement from its roots in the Dominion Theology of the previous century to its present form. Also identifies many of the key leaders within the movement and evaluates their teachings and impact on the historic faith in light of Biblical revelation.
