This workshop will present a philosophical difficulty for the Jehovah’s Witness view of the general resurrection. Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the existence of an immortal immaterial soul, believing that a person ceases to exist at the point of death, but are resurrected at the time of the general resurrection. Appealing to philosophical accounts of what constitutes personal identity through time, the presenter argues that the Jehovah’s Witness view of resurrection is not possible.
