Free Book with Any Donation: Rescuing Slaves of the Watchtower

Watch this video to learn how you can receive a free book with any donation (expires August 6, 2016).

Learn how to rescue Jehovah’s Witnesses from their slavery! Though its members represent one of the fastest-growing religions in the world, the Jehovah’s Witnesses remain one of the most enigmatic and puzzling groups to many people today. Few people never have been visited by a “Witness”, but what exactly do these determined people actually believe? What makes them so different from other Christian denominations?

In this spellbinding look at the Watchtower Society, Joe B. Hewitt, formerly a third-generation Jehovah’s Witness who was indoctrinated by his mother and grandfather with Watchtower teachings, pulls back the curtain of mystery and exposes lies, the mind control, and the glaring contradictions of biblical truth behind the organization that has sent those smiling faces to your front door. His book contains heartbreaking stories of former adherents, including himself, who were betrayed by the JW’s.

Joe says instead of evangelizing others, the Witnesses themselves need to be rescued from the cult-like organization. The book describes how people who know the real truth of Christ’s love can rescue the Watchtower’s slaves from intellectual and emotional bondage.

Top 3 Reasons Not to Join the Jehovah’s Witnesses (Free Video)

Meet Daniel Grissom. He was one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses we have helped through our witnessing resources. You will be thrilled to know, Daniel left the Watchtower and was radically transformed by God’s grace becoming a true follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Daniel made the spiritual journey from the Kingdom Hall to the Kingdom of God. I am excited to share that Daniel is now part of our team as a support staff member at Watchman Fellowship. That, my friend,  is a miracle!

He has just produced the first in a series of short videos explaining why he is no longer a Jehovah’s Witness. I wanted you to have access to this right away. I believe these videos will be great resources for you to learn more and be equipped to share with Jehovah’s Witnesses at your front door. Please tell me what you think.

FREE: Click to Watch (6.2 min.)

The prayer and financial support of our friends like you help us to be able to produce witnessing resources like this and to reach those in false religions like Daniel Grissom. Daniel and I, along with the rest of our team, want to tell you how much we appreciate your help.

Thank you for standing with us!

The Stranger in the Manger

I wanted to share a free video of a message I delivered last October at the Witness Now Ex-Jehovah’s Witness Convention in Pennsylvania.

I was asked to address what is perhaps the most crucial questions for Jehovah’s Witnesses who are leaving the Watchtower Society — Who is Jesus?

The title of my message is Stranger in the Manger: What Child is This? and I share the main differences between the Jesus of the Bible and the many “Christs” of the cults. Just about every religion believes in Jesus. The question is which Jesus?

Can You Answer These Key Questions?

The issues and controversies I discuss are essential not just to former Jehovah’s Witnesses. These are key questions every Christian must be able to answer. Here are some examples:

  • Where does the Bible teach the doctrine of the Trinity?
  • What really happened at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD?
  • Since Jesus said “the Father is greater than I,” is He less than God?
  • What is the  difference between the biblical doctrine of the Trinity and the Modalism of “Oneness” Pentecostalism?

You may watch my message and download the outline for free here:

Please help us continue to reach out to people of other faiths with the true Gospel of Grace. Your donation helps make it possible:

After you get a chance to watch the video, I would value your feedback! Also, I’ve been asked to speak again at this year’s Ex-Jehovah’s Witness Convention this September. Would you please pray for all of the former JWs around the world who have left a lie but have not yet found the Truth (John 14:6).

Finland and the Watchtower’s Manual for Elders

On our Facebook and Twitter feeds we recently linked to a news article about Finland’s demand that the Watchtower Society turn over its manual for elders to the Minister of Justice and the Minister of the Interior. The reason for this demand, according to the news story, is to ensure that the rules for Jehovah’s Witnesses are in accordance with Finnish law.

Why would this situation concern Jehovah’s Witnesses? In 1999, Jason Barker reviewed an earlier edition of Pay Attention to Yourselves and to All the Flock, the Watchtower Society’s secret manual for elders, and concluded:

The reason for the Society’s intense secrecy regarding the manual can be explained in one word: power. The majority of Pay Attention… is devoted to the exercise of power within a congregation, instructing elders in the proper procedure for handling a wide array of punishable offenses. Power is also at issue because the Society has deliberately kept these regulations from becoming common knowledge amongst the organization, thus leaving Witnesses unprepared and without recourse should their elders accuse them of wrongdoing. The organization has deliberately kept its followers in the dark despite its professed dedication to publishing “new light.”

In his review Barker outlines the many types of offenses for which Jehovah’s Witnesses can be punished, the ways in which they can be disciplined, and the ways in which judicial committees are formed and function within local congregations. You can learn more about the elder’s manual, as well as what you can do to help Jehovah’s Witnesses, by reading this essential article.

Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecy

The Watchtower Society has a long history of failed prophecies based on their uniquely flawed interpretation of the Bible. The Society is releasing at its 1999 “God’s Prophetic Word” District Conventions a new book that reinforces the label of “false prophet” that Christians have long applied to the organization.

Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecy! is, like the earlier book Revelation: Its Grand Climax at Hand, a “commentary” that applies the Society’s eschatological (i.e., “end times”) doctrines to the Bible. One of the most intriguing sections of Pay Attention… is the analysis of the King of the North and the King of the South from Daniel 11. The changes that the Watchtower Society has made in its teachings regarding the identities of these kings is yet another example of the unreliability of Watchtower prophecy. The remainder of this article will examine the current Watchtower explication of Daniel 11, noting how and when this explication supports and differs from past Society teachings.

Occult Spiritist Supports the New World Translation

The Watchtower Society is quite familiar with Pastor Johannes Greber and his translation of The New Testament. They have quoted him at least nine times in their publications dating from 1956 to 1983.

Seven of the quotations were of a positive nature and were used to support the Society’s translation of certain biblical passages (such as John 1:1).

The other two were negative in that they exposed Greber as a spiritist who relied on the spirit world to help him translate his New Testament.

In typical Watchtower fashion, the Society got as much mileage out of Greber as possible and when their hand was exposed, they sanctimoniously tossed him aside.

Blood Transfusions: Sustaining the Purpose of God

Blood as used in the Bible is a symbol, it is not sacred in,and of, itself. The thing symbolized, life and redemption, specifically the life and redeeming blood of Christ, are what are sacred. Does the refusal of a transfusion by a Jehovah’s Witness, perhaps resulting in death, uphold the sacredness God required for blood as a symbol? Or, does it do violence to the sacred reality of the symbol, life and redemption?

Or, because blood is symbolic of life and redemption would not the acceptance of a blood transfusion honor the sacred reality, life and redemption?

Jesus: First-Born or First-Created?

Since the modern revival of Arianism by Charles Taze Russell in the latter nineteenth century, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah’s Witnesses), continues to make great efforts to challenge orthodox Christianity. Their most violent attacks are against the doctrine of the Trinity and the deity of Christ (Reasoning from the Scriptures, Brooklyn: Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 1989, pp. 212, 405). Their efforts to undermine the deity of Christ mock the biblical languages themselves as well as the body of modern scholarship and historical consensus on the subject.

It is impossible to over-emphasize the importance of the Watchtower’s attacks. Salvation depends on who Christ is, and His divine nature. An infinite atonement cannot be made by any other than an infinite Being. The Watchtower’s doctrine transforms the Divine God-man Jesus Christ into a mere creature. By denying Christ’s divine nature it eviscerates the Gospel. It therefore stands as a serious threat to all who seek salvation in Christ, and should provoke in them a powerful response far surpassing any Watchtower zeal, to preserve and teach sound biblical truth.

Watchtower Society Changes Doctrine of 1914 (Again)

BROOKLYN, NY: Major developing story at the Watchtower —  It looks like the Governing Body is in the process of doing away with most of what remains of the 1914 doctrine.

Originally 1914 was to have been the date for the Battle of Armageddon (The Time Is at Hand, p. 101). Following that failure, 1914 morphed into the beginning of the “last generation” which was to culminate with Armageddon before everyone living in 1914 had died (Watchtower, 1984 May 15 pp. 6-7). That hope was finally abandoned in 1995 with the theory that 1914 began an everlasting “last generation” not limited by human lifespans (Watchtower, 1995 Nov 1 pp. 17-20). In 2010, that “old light” was replaced with a 1914 “overlapping” last generation theory (Watchtower, 2010 June 15 p. 5). Just three years later, that doctrine has now also expired.

Newest Light 2013: It has taken 100 years, but it seems the Watchtower is now subtly admitting that almost everything they once taught about 1914 was wrong (Watchtower, 2013 July 15 pp. 3-8).

You should download this PDF of the July 15, 2013 Watchtower while you still can.
